What happens if i drop my ipod classic

Quickly turn the device off as soon as possible after coming in contact with water. Shake and wipe - Remove water by gently shaking the gadget and wiping it with a clean cloth. Do not attempt to use a blow dryer or other external heat device or you may risk damaging the iPod's plastic components. Let dry in a warm place - Water damage on iPod Nano, or any iPod model for that matter, can be better remedied if drying process was thorough and fast.

Lay the iPod on top of a TV, refrigerator, or another warm, safe spot. If you are confident that you can disassemble and then reassemble the iPod this can allow the parts can dry faster. However, be aware that this voids the iPod warranty. Wipe the parts with cotton or a cloth and rubbing alcohol. You can replace the battery yourself but doing so will void your warranty. If you dropped your iPod Touch in water and it will not turn on, it's likely the device has died.

Your iPod contains sensitive components and exposure to moisture may cause it to short-circuit. If you dry the device immediately, you might be able to save it. Turn it off right away if it gets wet to avoid further damage, and then submerge the iPod Touch in a bowl filled with uncooked white rice overnight.

The rice will absorb the moisture from the device. To verify water damage, look at the water sensor inside the device's headphone jack. You may need a lighted magnifying glass to see the sensor. The sensor is normally white, but when exposed to moisture, it turns pink or red.

This sensor alerts Apple to water damage, which is not covered by your warranty. This often occurs if the device is dropped and the screen cracks; the iPod may be damaged even if you don't see any physical evidence.

If the device powers on but you can't see an image on the screen, it's not completely dead. What do I do?! I dropped my iPod nano 3rd with a wrapper from the 3rd floor all the way down earlier.

At first it still worked normally like nothing had happened, but then I held the Play button to turn it off and couldn't turn it on again! I think you just need to get a mechanic to look at it or something.

Or you may just need a new one. It depends how badly it was broken. I dropped my ipod like 5 feet from the ground and it was dead It's not on hold and I have tried the middle and center button with the lock button but nothing works. I plugged it into my computer and nothing shows up!!!!! Last year!! My Dad will kill me!!!! By the way, I'm 12 and he's not here right now so I bought a ipod video off ebay and it kept saying connect to computer to restore on iTunes I tried about 12 times it still didnt work but I taken it to my computer place down town and its now fixed so try that even it might not say that or anything it would be a good try to take it some were or talk to apple experts on wwww.
