Thanks for the response Katie! If you have a large family or game group, and want to play Catan with more than just four players, this expansion is the way to go. That said, adding extra players to a game changes a lot regarding to strategy and player interaction. The only feature that the players expansion adds it the extra building phase. At the end of each turn, before the next player starts his turn, all players all allowed to build something with the resources at hand.
Note that this expansion is only for the base game. For each extra expansion you need the players expansion of that particular game as well, to play it with players.
