Nicholas Sloop , Jan 26, Ever notice that the oil pan rail is at the crank centerline of a Buick The Buick is a lightweight block design. One of the reasons we need such a huge crank. The pan rail extends below the entire crank. I agree that it should have a Buick motor but take your time to build a right and use the cheby untill it ready. Landshark , Jan 26, I'd say overall they are a much beefier block.
I have yet to see one that wouldn't take a. Good castings can go. Two bolt blocks can be converted to splayed caps, 4 bolts are fairly available, etc. Not to mention their excellent oiling system. Imagine if they actually put a good nickel content into those blocks!!
That's basically why they HAVE to be beefier. Penny wise and nickel foolish?? The block was completely assembled less fan, starter, and carb. It weighed lbs! Aluminum heads with an SP1 intake.

Of the four motors run, this is the only one with aluminum heads, and honestly, they feel are equivalent to a set of GOOD cast iron Oldsmobile heads. Third, came the Pontiac , mated to a set of 6X cast iron heads. To accompany the freshly rebuilt heads we ran the factory crankshaft, Eagle forged rods, and SRP forged pistons. The machined and prepped setup brought displacement within striking range of the other 3 big blocks, so they thought it was fitting.
On top of the classic Mopar rods, they mounted some ICON forged pistons to handle any future track abuse that is likely coming. Otherwise I'll have to send Guido and his buddies to visit Dec 20, 7.
Dec 20, 8. I'm not sure the bellhousings bolt up the same Dec 20, 9. Messages: 96 Likes Received: 0. Now wait let me get this straight. It's cool to put chevy's in absolutly everything on earth, but to put a Pontiac , which is a performance engine not a truck motor, in a chevy is taboo? Dec 20, CamaroDriver, There is a big difference in the two engines: The Chevy is basicaly a truck engine, the Pontiac was engineered as a performance engine.
The bellhousings will not bolt, but adapters are available. Be advised that a healthy will destroy your stock transmission.
